The dream of qualifying for the World Championship Tour (WCT) is still the number one goal in Philippa Anderson’s vision.  With 10 years experience on the World Qualifying Series (WQS) and some huge results, Philippa wants to share her knowledge with the younger generation. Philippa has all her life always been around the beach, not only surfing, she was a South African nipper surf lifesaving champion in many divisions.  Growing up along the beautiful coast line of Port Elizabeth, South Africa she was very fortune to experience all that she did as a kid. Competing in the Under 12 Boys, from the age of 9 with her brother Craig is what started her love for surfing. Years later the Anderson family immigrated to Australia and ended up in the beautiful town of Newcastle. In her own words “ seeing more girl divisions in competitions, I was excited to be able to join them and surf in a girls divisions for once”. This lead to her cadet career with initial sponsorship by Ripcurl.  Soon Philippa experienced a little taste of the life of a Professional Surfer. At the age of 17, Philippa was sponsored by Roxy where some big results followed. Representing Australia at the ISA World Junior Games, 2nd in the World Junior Championships (twice), three break through performances on the WQS and two WCT appearances as a wild card winner/ injury replacement. A few years later Roxy and her parted ways.  Despite not having a major sponsor Philippa never gave up on her dream. There were a few hard years of juggling part time work to earn money to keep that WQS dream alive. Semi final and final appearances in 6star WQS events lead to 5 consecutive years finishing in the Top 15 on the WQS rankings and Top 25 in the World rankings.  Her determination, love for the sport, hard work in the gym and faith in her ability has driven her to never give up on her dream of making the WCT. 

Philippa has now launched her surf school where she is excited to pass on her knowledge in and out of the water. Philippa wants to help inspire the younger generation, get more females out in the water giving it a go and helping surfers achieve their own personal goals which ever it may be. This next journey is just the start and the team at Philippa Anderson Surf School are ready of you.

CANCELATION POLICY with Philippa Anderson Surf School

At the Philippa Anderson Surf School , we run lessons in rain or sunshine providing it is safe to do so. We will cancel lessons if the surf is too big, flat or the conditions are unsafe due to high tide, heavy shore dumps, lighting or strong winds then you can reschedule your lesson at a later date. If we can’t link up a lesson that suits you and you decide to fully cancel your lesson, you will receive a full refund (please expect 1-2 days). 

We need 24 HOURS NOTICE IF YOU would like to reschedule or cancel your booked lesson to get a full refund. Failure to give the necessary notice within the 24 HOURS of your booking, you will be charged 50% of your booking. Failure to give notice OR failure to show up will result in a 100% forfeit of the session fees ( this is due to our inability to fill the slots).

PLEASE NOTE we take a 50% booking fee in advanced for lessons booked over email, text and social media platforms. Come the day of the lesson we will ask you to pay the remaining amount.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS with Philippa Anderson Surf School

1. By reading and signing the Philippa Anderson Surf School waiver you are agreeing to accept these terms and conditions between Philippa Anderson Surf School and yourself.
2. If a participant has ticked the box on the booking site ‘Approval to take and use images of participant’, the participant is agreeing for Philippa Anderson Surf School to use images from the participants lesson across all media platforms related to Philippa Anderson Surf School. 
3. Intellectual Property Rights – all Intellectual Property Rights relating to all material on Philippa Anderson Surf School website shall be the property to Philippa Anderson Surf School unless otherwise stated.
4. All information on Philippa Anderson Surf School website is accurate and owned by Philippa Anderson Surf School.

Every participant needs to have read and signed the waiver (which you will receive once booked a lesson via email). The waiver is attached in a link below.
