FAQ’S
Q. Will the lesson still run if the beach is closed?
NO, unfortunately when the lifeguards put up the Red Flag this indicates the beach/ ocean/ surf is unsafe and the beach is closed. No lessons will run if the Red Flag is up. We will do our best to notify you if your lesson is canceled.
Q. What to bring to a lesson?
-Swimsuit and towel
-Wear lots of sunscreen
-At the Philippa Anderson Surf School we supply each participant with a wetsuit, leg rope, surfboard, rash vest. If you require anything else, like extra rash vest/surf vest, medication, goggles, swimming cap please bring along.
-Completed Indemnity Form (found on About Us page)
Q. Can I bring my own surf board for my lesson?
Yes, you can if it’s a foam board. If you own a fibre glass surf board you can only use this in a private lesson. No fibre glass boards are allowed in group lesson with other participants as it could be hazardous to the other participants.
Q. Can’t make you lesson?
If you can’t make your booked lesson, WE PLEASE ASK YOU to inform us ASAP. We do have a 24hrs policy, so try advise us prior to receive full refund. If it’s within 24hrs notice, we will take 50% of your booking. Notice can be given via SMS to 0492 729 234 or email info@philippaandersonsurfschool.com with your name and booking time.
Q. Are there package deals?
Sure is! We offer a range of lesson packages from learn to surf beginner lessons to Intermediate and advanced coaching sessions. (Deals coming soon)
Q. I have never surfed before?
We cater for all levels from beginner, intermediate, to advanced at Philippa Anderson Surf School. We are here to help guide you with the right equipment and technique and we will get you up and surfing. You are never too old or too young to try learn to surf.
Q. What happens if I hurt myself?
All lessons are run at beaches patrolled by lifeguards. All our coaches are qualified (First Aid, APOLA, Working with Children Check, Surf Coach Accredited)
